Australia’s business events industry has a reputation for delivering successful events that consistently exceed expectations and with new and enhanced infrastructure adding even more choice and capacity to key destinations, delegates attending an event in Australia are not only be able to benefit from the industry’s expertise in event delivery, they can now also enjoy new and exciting world-class event facilities.
Visitors to IBTM World will be able to get a first-hand understanding of the new developments at the Australia stand, where Business Events Australia and its stand partners are looking forward to showcasing why there’s nothing like Australia for business events.
Tourism Australia’s General Manager of Business Events Australia, Penny Lion said, “Australia is currently undergoing a dramatic period of development in its business events infrastructure including the AUD 1.1 billion development of International Convention Centre Sydney and the AUD 210 million expansion of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, two significant destinations delivering outstanding event facilities. Combine this with Australia’s world-class beauty and natural environments, exclusive experiences and leadership in several industry sectors and Australia is a winning combination for both the incentive
market and association events.”
“All our stand partners at IBTM World are ready to inspire buyers to choose Australia by bringing this combination to life. Our UK-based Business Events Manager, Lene Corgan, will also be on the stand, highlighting the very latest developments, experiences and products available in Australia right now – all capable of delivering outstanding outcomes for any event held in Australia,” said Ms Lion.
Partners on the Australia stand include Business Events Sydney and the soon to be completed International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), due to open in December 2016. ICC Sydney is key to the complete revitalisation of the Darling Harbour precinct, which will include a new 600 room hotel by 2017 and completely reimagined public spaces. Part of the new builds that are changing the face of Darling Harbour is stand partner Four Points by Sheraton Sydney Darling Harbour who will deliver a total of 900 rooms, including 230 new rooms in a purpose built tower, by the end of 2015.
Stand partner Melbourne Convention Bureau, will also be sharing updates with visitors to the stand, as will the Melbourne Convention Centre who will soon commence Stage Two of their AUD 200 million redevelopment to include more multi-purpose convention and exhibition facilities and retail spaces.
Visitors to the stand will also be able to discuss their plans, requirements and latest available services with Australian companies Arinex Events and JCM Destination Australia.
“There is so much happening in Australia right now and visitors to our stand at IBTM World will benefit from the wealth of business events knowledge and experience on the stand. We can’t wait to help visitors discover the latest news from Australia” said Ms Lion.
