Leading immersive food experience platform, VizEat, will be at the IBTM in Barcelona to talk about its new initiative of providing travel, events and conference agencies access to its platform interface. Partnering agencies can liaise directly with VizEat’s dedicated customer service team about their desired event format and gain personalised access to manage their bookings and business with VizEat hosts directly, via a connection with VizEat’s Open API. The announcement comes hot on the heels of successful partnerships with Air France, Eurail and Voyageurs du Monde among others.
Jean-Michel Petit, VizEat CEO and co-founder, says that the move will allow partners
to solve the growing challenge of how to differentiate themselves in an increasingly
competitive travel and events space. “It is no longer enough to offer comfortable flights to a new destination and put customers up in a luxurious hotel; travel and tourism is increasingly about giving customers access to the best immersive experiences.”
“Our 22,000 local hosts community in 110 countries welcome – at their home – tourists, business travellers and MICE groups for unique experiences : dinners of course, but also cooking classes, food tours, teatime, wine tasting. For guests, this is often one of the highlights of their trip.”
“VizEat’s unique food experiences are a powerful way to differentiate. By connecting
travellers with locals and creating bespoke, authentic food experiences, travel operators
will be able to build a relationship with their customers that extends way beyond just
managing the logistics. Innovative travel operators are already thinking about adding value to customers in new ways, and a partnership with VizEat is one more way of providing customers with access to more interesting and varied travel choices.”
Fresh from a successful fund-raise of €4.3m in August 2016, the food experiences sharing economy company is now setting up a full scale presence in the UK and Germany in addition to its original offices in Paris, Milan and Barcelona. The expansion will focus on building interactive partnerships with industry groups wanting to offer their own customers more local, authentic travel experiences. VizEat was founded in early 2014 in France and raised €1m in a seed funding round led by UK-based Eurovestech Plc; in February 2015 it acquired Paris-based pioneer Cookening, effectively becoming the European leader in the growing culinary experience sharing space.
