Peermont was showcasing the group’s extensive collection of hotels, casinos and resorts at Africa’s largest travel and trade show, Indaba 2014. Peermont Hotels, Casinos and Resorts announced a series of refurbishments, new builds and upgrades of facilities to properties of over R373m(about $US35.5 million). International Sales manager, Junese Viljoen presented the Emperors Palace Hotel Casino and Convention Resort, and outlined the extent to which the group was investing in the future.
The investment program included a new casino resort currently being built in Burgersfort, Limpopo Province, close to the Panorama Route; entertainment theatre upgrades at Emperors Palace; various conference, room and bathroom upgrades at properties and recent openings of new restaurants and bars.
To further enhance its facilities, Peermont is spending R30m, by expanding its popular world-class convention centre at Emperors Palace. It will add a further 1800m² of conference facilities with sub-divisible medium sized meeting rooms, new boardroom, public toilets, additional pre-assembly space and reception area.
The Peermont Group’s Emperors Palace was recently awarded Best Convention Hotel in SA in the 2013 International Hotel Awards while the five star Peermont D’oreale Grande Hotel at Emperors Palace took home Best Airport Hotel in Africa and South Africa.
